The 6th International Symposium on Additive Manufacturing (ISAM 2025) will show how AM technology contributes significantly to increase industrial value today and in the future. The conference will clearly focus on the vibrant topics of our industries and scientific communities. Experts from all over the world will report on the latest developments, perspectives and applications of additive manufacturing. Digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence will help to further push the boundaries of AM processes.

In Additive Manufacturing and especially Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), copper has advanced as one of the 5 major metal classes (Cu, Fe, Ti, Al, Ni). With its maturation, new knowledge, experiences, use cases but also questions and challenges arise.   

To answer these questions, Fraunhofer IWS in Dresden has initiated the workshop “CopperAM for Industry“, which sucessfully started in 2022 with about 50 international attendees from 11 countries.

In 2025 again, experts from industry and research will give an overview on the recent status of copper and copper alloys processed by LPBF. We seek to provide the latest information on copper based materials, process development and industrial use cases. The workshop will furthermore offer you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants in a relaxed atmosphere and to foster close networking between industry and research.

The Fraunhofer DDMC is a bi-annual cutting-edge forum for discussion on Additive Manufacturing, including its application in industry and the environmental impact of such new manufacturing technologies. Impact on health, sustainability and society will also be discussed. During the latest conference more than 110 participants from 19 countries, both from industry and research, attended Fraunhofer DDMC 2023. The conference program included 4 keynote presentations and 19 sessions with a total of 51 presentations. Abstracts can be submitted until the end of May, 2024.
