Scalable LPBF machine concept

• Scaling of the build volume and productivity in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF).
• Use of a processing head with exposure unit and local shielding gas system, which is positioned above the powder bed by means of linear axes.
• The machine concept allows cost-efficient scaling of the build volume by adaption of the length of the linear axes.
• The scaling of productivity is achieved via the number of exposure modules.
